Te Whakaako i te Pāngarau (Teaching the Teachers the Maths)Auckland13 Aug 2025 - 14 Aug 2025This two-day course is designed to strengthen kaiako understanding and teaching of key concepts, ideas, strategies, and skills outlined in the five tūārere of the redesigned Pāngarau wāhanga ako. This workshop is suitable for kaiako who attended the Pāngarau workshop delivered earlier this year in March, as well as kaiako taking up this opportunity for the first time. It is relevant for all kaiako teaching Pāngarau, whether in kura tuatahi, kura waenga, or wharekura. The workshop is particularly suitable for kaiako who want to better ‘understand the pāngarau content’ they are teaching and looking to improve the pāngarau learning experiences of their ākonga. Kaiako will work in groups alongside a facilitator. When registering for this course, please indicate the year levels of the ākonga you teach Pāngarau to. Each group will focus on concepts where ākonga understanding and application of those concepts, needs strengthening. Broader pāngarau considerations will be covered in whole group sessions.Past course
